Find a place where you can be still. Take 5 deep breaths, feeling the sensation of the air filling and leaving your lungs. Take 5 more, notice as they deepen and slow. Release your shoulders.
Thoughts may flit in and out, that’s ok. Let them go with the reassurance that they can wait until later.
Bring your attention to the reflective piece in front of you. What image, sound or word do you notice?
Close your eyes for a minute and take some further deep breaths, letting your chest rise and fall, rise and fall.
Engage with the same piece for a second time. This time go beyond words or images, notice how you feel. Are there any things that resonate deeper?
That a step back again and breathe. In and out, in and out.
Bring your attention to the piece for a third and final time. Invite the Holy Spirit to bring a word, phrase or picture to you. It may be just what you needed in this moment, or a complete surprise that inspires change. Be aware of the presence of God with you as you sit and receive. Allow Him the room to breathe His revelation into your life.
