Being an intern at Central is a fantastic opportunity to explore and practice your leadership gifting. It is a season to be developed in leadership, learning how to lead yourself and others in the vision God has given to this family of churches.
Through our internship programme we hope that you will grow in character, confidence in your identity, biblical understanding and missional vision for your life.
0-18s – Working with kids and youth, centrally and in our Communities, church plants and across the city.
Creative – Telling the story of Jesus creatively and effectively in our church and city. If you’re into design, art, photography, web development, social media, video, writing or more, this internship will give you the opportunity to use and develop those abilities.
Communities – alongside the Communities & Connections team developing the reach and impact of our Communities, an opportunity for a varied role within this team with a focus on connecting with Communities to gather stories and work with the communications team to help share them around the church in a variety of ways
Events – Working alongside our Central Venues business and Central Church Gatherings Team to assist in designing and managing a wide range of events held at Central Hall.
Operations & Finance – An opportunity to work with the resources team at Central learning to support the various departments of Central’s ministry with logistics support particularly in reference to CAP, venue & finance teams.
Oxgangs – Working with a church planting team as part of a multi-generational church in a local community. Opportunities to be apprenticed as part of a church plant and serve the ongoing ministry of the church as well as a broad range of opportunities for local mission and discipleship in a deprived community.
Prayer and Prophecy – An opportunity to grow in character, gifting, leadership, biblical understanding and love for Jesus in the context of the Prayer and Prophetic ministry at Central.
Stenhouse – Serving in a new missional setting, primarily focusing on kids and younger youth, supporting the rebirth of an urban church community.
Students – A chance to work in the area of student ministry that you are passionate about. Leadership development, pastoral care, events management, prayer and worship, community building, vision shaping. We will work with what you are passionate about and want to grow in.
Worship – Help develop the passion and skills of the worship team as well as working hard to inspire the church to encounter God in new and old ways
Young Adults – Working with the leaders of our young adult Communities with the desire to see this generation equipped to be all that God desires and calls them to be in every aspect of their lives.
Part of your internship will involve taking part in Cairn’s Training Hub. Training Hub is a 10-month programme for everyday disciples, encompassing theological teaching, leadership development, practical training & spiritual growth.
It is a supported environment for learning and dreaming, gaining skills and stepping out. It’s a team, a family, of like-minded people, breathing courage into one another.
The programme encompasses theological teaching, leadership development, practical training & spiritual growth. Covering topics such as identity, equipping the church and cultural transformation, Training Hub is delivered over 5 Friday/Saturday weekend conferences, monthly local gatherings, accountability groups and personal investment.
A personal programme of reading and study will be agreed with your line manager and additional training conferences will be identified throughout the year.
Interns will work under the day to day supervision of a staff member, and will have regular reviews during the year. They will meet weekly with the staff team and from time to time they will have opportunity for intern training with a member of the senior team.
Internships are possible for between 2 – 4 days per week, depending on the availability of the intern and the responsibility of the position. Interns will have a fairly structured weekly timetable that will be reviewed during the year.
Internships are offered on a part time basis to enable additional part time work. Accommodation with a church family may be possible.
