Being an intern at Central is a fantastic opportunity to explore and practice your leadership gifting. It is a season to be developed in leadership, learning how to lead yourself and others in the vision God has given to this family of churches.
Through our internship programme we hope that you will grow in character, confidence in your identity, biblical understanding and missional vision for your life.
0-18s – An opportunity to work with our incredible young people, sharing Jesus with them, discipling and equipping them to live their lives running after all that God has for them. Come and join a team who are passionate about raising up our future Christian Leaders. While exploring your calling you will get to be involved in all aspects of the 0-18’s ministry from prayer ministry, song writing, holiday clubs, parents evenings, all age gatherings, toddler groups, communities, bible studies, mentoring, and a whole lot of fun. You will also have the option of working closely with LEAD to deliver leadership development courses in local secondary schools.
Central Creative – If you’re into design, art, photography, video, writing or more, this internship will give you the opportunity to use and develop those abilities as well as help run our Central Creative ministry here at Central. Communities – alongside the Communities & Connections team developing the reach and impact of our Communities, an opportunity for a varied role within this team with a focus on connecting with Communities to gather stories and work with the communications team to help share them around the church in a variety of ways
Events – Working alongside our Central Venues business and Central Church Gatherings Team to assist in designing and managing a wide range of events held at Central Hall.
Operations & Finance – An opportunity to work with the resources team at Central learning to support the various departments of Central’s ministry with logistics support particularly in reference to CAP, venue & finance teams.
Prayer and Prophecy – An opportunity to grow in character, gifting, leadership, biblical understanding and love for Jesus in the context of the Prayer and Prophetic ministry at Central.
Sanctuary Community – The Sanctuary Community is home and family for refugees and those with a heart for refugees. You will play a key role in supporting the development of this community including building friendships with refugees in Edinburgh and contributing to delivering events. Ability to be culturally sensitive is essential and Arabic language skills would be an advantage.You will also be part of the Communities and Connections team and get involved in various aspects of supporting and championing Communities around Central.
Students – A chance to work in the area of student ministry that you are passionate about. Leadership development, pastoral care, events management, prayer and worship, community building, vision shaping. We will work with what you are passionate about and want to grow in.
Worship – Want to grow as a worship leader, songwriter or musician? Come join us and help develop the passion and skills of the worship team as well as working hard to inspire the church to encounter God in new and old ways. Check out what we’ve been up to recently here.
Young Adults – Working with the leaders of our young adult Communities with the desire to see this generation equipped to be all that God desires and calls them to be in every aspect of their lives.
Part of your internship will involve specific discipleship and leadership training through Training Hub. Find out more about training hub here.
A personal programme of reading and study will be agreed with your line manager and additional training conferences will be identified throughout the year.
Interns will work under the day to day supervision of a staff member, and will have regular reviews during the year. They will meet weekly with the staff team and from time to time they will have opportunity for intern training with a member of the senior team.
Internships are possible for between 2 – 4 days per week, depending on the availability of the intern and the responsibility of the position. Interns will have a fairly structured weekly timetable that will be reviewed during the year.
Internships are offered on a part time basis to enable additional part time work. Accommodation with a church family may be possible. Training will be funded.
