A guide to Sundays at Central

Coming along to a church gathering for the first time can be daunting. But having an idea about what to expect can make it easier. We’d love to help you find your feet and introduce you to some of the family.

We gather three times on a Sunday to hang out and spend time worshipping God, reading the bible, listening to a talk and sharing some stories together. Everyone is welcome!

The 9.15am

A shorter, more reflective gathering

The 10.30am

A gathering ideal for young families. Worship, teaching and kids & youth programmes

The 6pm

Similar to the 10.30am, with more students and young adults. Coffee and chat from 6pm, worship from 6.15pm

What to expect

Our gatherings are informal and you don’t need to dress up. We have a welcome team who will greet you when you arrive and can answer your questions. As a church we have a wide age range of people worshipping with us – from almost 0 to over 100 in fact so please know that you will not feel out of place! Usually, we also have refreshments at the end of our gatherings, so please feel welcome to stick around and have a chat.

A bit about Transport

Free Parking

There are two suggested locations where free Sunday parking is allowed on the public roadway marked with a single yellow line. Each of these areas can accommodate lots of cars and are between 5-10 minutes walk from the building. The two locations are alongside the Meadows, on Melville Drive and along Ponton Street behind Central Hall. Unfortunately, free parking is not available nearby during the week.

Other Options

Both metered parking and paid car parks are available within the vicinity of the church building (within 5 minutes walk). You will find car parks at Princes Exchange in Riego Street,  Fountainpark, and Semple Street.

There is currently no provision for bicycle storage and/or security at Central Hall.

Tollcross is well served by a number of Lothian bus services. The 2, 10, 11, 15/15a, 16, 23, 27, 30, 45 services all stop nearby.
